“Second Harvest is grateful for the long-standing support of Safebridge Financial Group. This unique give-back opportunity allows homeowners to leverage their assets to make a difference in their community, while helping vulnerable people in Toronto benefit from healthy food. From many angles, this is truly experiencing growth together. Thank you Safebridge!”

~ Jennifer Verschraegen, Director of Development at Second Harvest

“SafeBridge is absolutely thrilled to partner with Second Harvest to help raise additional funds for the incredible work they do for some of the neediest people in our city of Toronto. We have been long time supporters of this great cause for many reasons, one of which is their practical, logical and intentional approach to helping provide food for those that need it the most. What an incredible opportunity we have to help further this awesome vision and focus of an organization every city needs and deserves!”

~ Chris Karram, Co-Founder & Co-Chief Executive Officer at SafeBridge.

SafeBridge is thrilled to announce a new venture with the largest food rescue program in Canada, Second Harvest.

Since 1985, Second Harvest has been picking up donated, surplus food, which would otherwise go to waste, and delivering that food to community agencies in Toronto. Currently, Second Harvest delivers rescued food to over 220 social service agencies and SafeBridge is proud to have been a longtime supporter of Second Harvest and their initiatives.

Beginning summer 2016, any Second Harvest donor who chooses to work with SafeBridge in managing their new or existing mortgages, 20% of that mortgage closing’s revenue will be donated directly to Second Harvest. New clients will also receive a reimbursement of up to $350 for any appraisal fees once their mortgage closes.

With an average mortgage in the Greater Toronto Area of approximately $400,000, a Second Harvest donor will be helping to contribute an average of $800 back to Second Harvest which will in turn help to create 1,600 meals for those in need in our great city! What an awesome opportunity to make a very real impact!
